Rail and Ride Wednesday
Let the Train take the Strain! As a special concession for Bewdley Bike Week the Severn Valley Railway has once again generously agreed a unique deal for parents and children.
12 cyclists each day (adults and children) to travel with their bikes for the flat fare of only £5! Partly subsidised by Bewdley Bike Week, this a remarkable bargain!
The outward journey will be by the 10:45 train from Bewdley and will deliver riders to Hampton Loade station. This is immediately adjacent to National Cycle Route 45 and cyclists will then use their bikes to pedal back to Arley station (about 5 miles).
This is a safe and easy route on paths and country roads with almost no road traffic.
En route it passes the Country Park Visitor Centre, Arley Arboretum Café (10% discount for riders), and also cafes by the river in Arley.
From Arley Station riders and bikes will be transported back to Bewdley by an afternoon train at no extra cost.
Pre booking is essential as no tickets will be available on the day.
Ladies Only Traffic Free Track Ride Wednesday
Whatever your confidence level, this is the ride for you. Whether you want to do 5 minutes or one hour, book on and join the traffic free ride
A fantastic traffic free ladies only ride with Severn Valley Velo coaches
The circuit is suitable for all types of bikes, racers, mountain bikes and hybrids, every rider must wear a helmet. There is no cost for the ride.
Severn Valley Velo was formed in early 2009 with a view to filling a niche in the Club cycling scene. It was identified that there was a gap between cycle racing clubs and touring clubs through which young people and families were being missed. Nearly every youngster has a bicycle at some time in their early life but very few go on to take up cycling as a leisure or sporting activity.
